Responsibilities

Alta Equipment Company is seeking a full-time sales coordinator at our new Bloomington, IL location. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Processing the sale from start to finish
  • Building a complete customer file with signed/approved documentation to support the sale
  • Arrange and confirm the sale is properly specified per the sales agreement
  • Coordinate trucking with hauler and yard personnel for all sales
  • Process internal work orders
  • Process all vendor invoices for each sale
  • Accrue for all anticipated expenses
  • Coordinate with the rental department confirming rental contract has been closed
  • Coordinate with the used equipment department regarding all trades (trade allowances – hauling - receipt)
  • Maintain all electronic and hard copy files for sales and inventory
  • Support and cover sales administrative team members
  • Continued communication with sales personal to ensure that sales are processed timely
  • Communication with the credit and sales support to confirm customer data for all rental conversion sales
  • Work with the accounting department on any questions regarding documentation and processing of each sale
  • Direct communication with sales personnel, customers and department personnel
  • Inventory control – work with the sales and inventory coordinator to insure inventory is accurate
  • Assist with all inventory audits
  • Apply for and reconcile Volvo special pricing credts (SPC's)
  • Learn and keep current with all equipment specifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • A BS/BA degree with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of previous dealership sales administrative experience is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professionalism required
  • Outstanding time management skills and the ability to work under pressure with deadlines
  • Knowledge of sales processing
  • General equipment knowledge with the ability to become advanced with specifications and on the job training. Previous knowledge in the field is beneficial.
  • Computer programs - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Epicor/Silk systems (ERP Systems)
  • Language Skills - High: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear, sit; Frequently will walk, stand; Occasionally will reach with hands and arms,, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds, Occasionally will lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
