    Responsibilities

    This is a staff position within the IT support group accountable for ensuring continuity of computer system services for computer users.  This position will be required to provide the technical expertise, assistance, and project coordination necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

    • Provide and maintain an exceptional level of service by interacting with employees in a polite and professional manner.
    • Perform "frontline" call support duty while ensuring that all issues are properly documented and assigned in a technical support ticketing system
    • Manage, track and provide solutions to reported issues. Will seek supervisor direction and guidance as needed
    • Repair hardware/software issues as necessary
    • Install/support/maintain selected software and hardware products
    • Work closely with service vendors to ensure continuity of service
    • Stay abreast of the latest developments in information technology
    • Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
    • This position will also require the successful candidate to work overtime as needed and have "on-call" availability for all periods assigned by the IT Manager. Additionally, regular attendance and arriving on time is essential.

    Qualifications

    Desired Skills and Qualifications:
    • Associate degree in computer science or equivalent experience
    • One or more years’ experience as a computer specialist
    • Current A+ Certification
    • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
    • Creative problem-solver with analytical skills with the ability to work independently
    • Excellent time management with the ability to multi task
    • Organized and detail oriented
    • Computer programs - Windows applications, Microsoft Office, and Linux experience preferred
    • Language Skills -  High: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
    • Mathematical Skills – Intermediate.
    • Reasoning Ability - High - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Physical Demands/Work Environment:
    • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, sit, talk/hear; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • Vision: Close vision, ability to adjust focus, ability to see color.
    • Lift and/or Move Functions: Occasionally will lift up to 25 pounds
    • Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts
