Our Material Handling division is growing, and this is a newly created position to further support our company needs. We are seeking a full-time Senior Application Engineer for our Ronkonkoma, NY branch.
Vision: The vision for this position is to help Alta future proof their motive power team. We need help solidifying our sales approach, application engineering, project management and field support activities. Our goal is to build a scalable energy platform which can be leveraged by Nitco, Liftech, HILO USA and other dealerships as they are acquired by Alta Equipment Company. We want to outpace the material handling market regarding new technologies and become HYG’s benchmark dealership for Emerging Technologies.
Responsibilities: The role will support Alta’s Connecticut, New York, and Massachussets APR. It is expected the candidate will work out of the Ronkonkoma branch and support sales activities and travel on an as needed basis. The candidate must possess a broad knowledge base of the motive power industry, including lead acid battery manufacturers, lithium ion, opportunity charge and fast charge technologies. They must be able to self-perform power studies, write proposals and help Alta sales representatives identify and close motive power opportunities. It is expected the Sr. Application Engineer remain agnostic regarding vendors, power solutions and always take care of our customers and act in their best interest.
The candidate must be adept at advancing the sales rep relationship and bring value to their relationship. The reps must see the value in the sales engineer and want to bring them into deals to help credential Alta and close business.
The candidate will need to provide forecasting and to senior management and work to establish a pipeline of activities managed and reported out of the CRM.
