Responsibilities

Alta Equipment Company is seeking a Branch Manager to run our Fort Myers, Florida. The Branch Manager will oversee all aspects of sales, parts and service departments and daily branch operations.  A Branch/Sales Manager, has broad, overall responsibility for a business or a business unit within a larger organization. The role is particularly common in large global or multinational organizations where businesses are organized along product lines, customer groups, or geographies. The branch manager typically serves as the top executive for the unit and is responsible for strategy, structure, budgets, people, financial outcomes, and scorecard metrics.

 

The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

 

  • Oversee daily operations of the business unit or organization.
  • Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business through Sales, rentals, parts and service activities.
  • Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principal into daily activities.
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas by territory; and projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
  • Provide direct management of key functional managers and executives in the business unit.
  • Ensure the development and education of key employees to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers.
  • Engage in key or targeted customer activities and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee key hiring and talent development programs.
  • Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.
  • Communicate strategy and results to the unit's employees.
  • Report key results to corporate officers.
  • Engage with corporate officers in broader organizational strategic planning.
  • Monitoring the safety, cleanliness, and environment status of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces.
  • A min. of 4-6 years of management experience.
  • Inventory Control
  • Monitor Building conditions
  • Fluent in the operations of the Parts and Service dept. to cover for any staff that may be off.
  • Will be working closely with Sales and Product Support

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Dealership experience is highly preferred
  • Ability to effectively manage others
  • Time management skills
  • Strategic planning skills: Branch Manager must ensure the development and implementation of a clear strategic plan for an organization or business unit.
  • Financial planning skills: Branch Manager are responsible for looking at the future of the business and making key investments and investment recommendations.
  • Interpersonal skills: Branch Manager must be able to support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development. 
  • Leadership skills: Branch Manager are responsible for leading entire business units or divisions of an organization.
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Business Intelligence (BI); Crystal Reports, Fleetmatics, PayTrace, Concur, Extend
  • Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will talk/hear; Frequently will stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. taste/smell
  • Vision: No special vision requirements
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 10 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 100 pounds
  • Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
