Alta Equipment Group is seeking an HR Manager for our Syracuse, NY location.



  • Create new hire personnel files
  • Audit current associate files
  • Process disability, workers compensation and auto claims
  • Maintain our OSHA reports
  • Process FMLA and COBRA
  • Plan onboarding strategies and perform new employees’ orientation to deliver an exceptional early experience
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Travel to all upstate NY locations on a frequent basis to meet with employees to address any areas of concerns related to HR functions
  • Respond to employment inquires in a timely manner
  • Assist with benefits administration as needed
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks, and organizing team building activities
  • Keeps all employee bulletin board information current
  • Keeps all personnel information filed properly
  • Provides administrative and technical support to the Human Resources department on a variety of other functions


Who We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
