Job Summary

Field support of installed material handling equipment. Do whatever necessary to support our customer’s equipment, software and business processes in conjunction with ScottTech’s offerings. Work from home to support a growing customer base within 200-300 miles.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for hardware Field Service and Customer Service duties in the assigned region.
• Responsible for providing all hardware support, including Preventive Maintenance, emergency service and telephone troubleshooting of covered equipment.
• Thoroughly document each service visit via electronic service reports.
• Provide feedback to company on field issues, problems and recommended solutions.
• Use independent judgment to manage the activities with the customers.
• In conjunction with Field Service management, offer hardware support agreement, upgrade and other company offerings to existing and new customers.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with material handling equipment, including carousels, conveyor systems, Pick to Light a definite plus.
• Associates Degree or higher preferred. Tech school or equivalent experience a must.
• Ability to drive long distances and still be able to perform the required duties.
• Willingness to do mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance on covered equipment.
• Ability to perform under only general supervision.
• Be the primary person to interact with customers after equipment installation.
• Strong Customer Presence
• Ability to deal with pressure situations
• Experience with material handling/automated storage and retrieval equipment
• Knowledge of industrial electricity/electronic interface devices
• Knowledge of motor controls
• Possess mechanical/pneumatics/hydraulics aptitude
• Troubleshooting Experience
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to manage time to work within confines of traffic, customer work hours, etc
• Willingness to travel
• Knowledge of PC’s and PLC’s
• Possess a clean driving record

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will sit; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms,, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell
• Vision: No special vision requirements
• Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift 26 to 50 pounds
• Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
