Alta Material Handling is currently searching for a sales professional to manage a targeted area within the Long Island Market.  This position will entail many varied tasks, with the goal of expanding our Lighting business through project acquisition and existing customer cross sell.  This position will require, self motivation, flexibility and an eagerness to learn about the many facets of our business.   The proper candidate is one who takes pride in his or her work and would be excited about the opportunity to be in charge of growing and managing a sales territory.  This position is both strategic and tactical.  We are looking for this individual to be aggressive with regard to sales and committed to exceeding the customers expectations with regard to a materials handling vendor.    Scope and Responsibilities:  In reporting directly to both the Division Manager he or she will be responsible for the growth of the assigned territory.  Success will be based on total sales volume, referrals & new customer projects.  As with any new position the exact mix of the above criteria will largely be defined by the individual in the position.  In addition to salary commissions can be earned in the following areas: - LED Industrial sales - LED Commercial sales - Exterior Lighting Projects - Allied Product Sales

This position will ensure the work order process is being managed and completed in an efficient and accurate manner. The goals are to assist the service manager throughout the work day and take care of our customer and technician needs. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: - Provide open work orders to the service manager. - Obtain purchase order (PO) number from the customer if the customer's protocol is to give out PO's. - Input technician job repair write ups located on the internal calendar system. This will be done daily on all jobs that are completed and in process. - Prepare all work orders ready to close for the service manager to review once the job is completed. - Have all work orders closed 2 days after the job is completed. - Responsible for all time entries and payroll for the shop and field technicians. This position will be guaranteed at least 10 hours/day working out of our customer's site on a daily basist in the Columbus, OH territory. This is a union position and will be part of Operating Engineers Local 18.   A Field Technician  must be familiar with and able to diagnose and repair any systems problem that occurs for the majority (greater than 50%) of equipment the Company sells. A Field Technician 2 is qualified to perform the cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, removal, installation successfully, efficiently, and accurately with the help of proper manuals, report writing and the disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, reconditioning, ordering the correct parts, measuring, adjusting, diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting and equipment failure analysis of their assigned Service department or specialized area, with minimal technical assistance. Our Construction Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Service Technician Trainee.  This is a union position and will be part of Local 324.   A Service Trainee under supervision will be required to become qualified to successfully, efficiently, and accurately perform the report writing; as well as cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, removal, installation; the disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, reconditioning, ordering the correct parts, measuring and adjusting; and the diagnosing and testing, troubleshooting and equipment failure analysis requirements of their assigned service department. The service trainee minimum rate will be 70% of the Technician 2 rate. After 12 months, it will increase to 80% of the Technician 2 rate. Our Construction Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Service Administrator/ Writer for our Hooksett, NH branch. This position will ensure the work order process is being managed and completed in an efficient and accurate manner. The goals are to assist the service manager throughout the work day and take care of our customer and technician needs. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: - Provide open work orders to the service manager. - Obtain purchase order (PO) number from the customer if the customer's protocol is to give out PO's. - Input technician job repair write ups located on the internal calendar system. This will be done daily on all jobs that are completed and in process. - Prepare all work orders ready to close for the service manager to review once the job is completed. - Have all work orders closed 2 days after the job is completed. - Responsible for all time entries and payroll for the shop and field technicians. All payroll must be approved by the service manager prior to submission. - Periodically will call customer to provide updates or obtain additional information from them. - Follow up with other inter-company departments on open issues. - Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time.

Our Construction Equipment Group is seeking a full-time heavy equipment field service diesel technician / mechanic.  This is a union position and will be part of Operating Engineers Local 825.   A Class 2 Mechanic is one who is skilled generally in maintenance, repair and rebuilding of several types of equipment or, who are specialists in the maintenance, repair and rebuilding and troubleshooting of one or more types of equipment and major sub-assemblies, but who do not have the high degree of skill or experience of a Class "1" Mechanic and who need from time to time the supervision and guidance of others for the successful performance of their duties. This position is first shift, M - F, and hourly (no flat rate!).
